Bohemian Redwood Rescue Club:
The Bohemian Redwood Rescue Club was organized with the help of Forest Unlimited in 2007 in response to an outrageous Nonindustrial Timber Management Plan (NTMP) filed by the Bohemian Club on 2750 acres near Monte Rio in Sonoma County.
The land contains the largest stand of old growth redwoods in Sonma County, larger than the Armstrong Redwoods State Preserve near Guerneville and with redwoods of comparable size. The NTMP, a perpetual logging plan that, after initial approval , runs forever, would systematically liquidate the old growth giants and destroy habitat for endangered species. You can learn more about this plan and the changes already forced by an involved, savvy public by visiting savebohemiangrove.org.
