Free the Creeks Project:

Thanks to irresponsible planning, many creeks have been “undergrounded” in culverts and pipes denying them life-giving sunlight and destroying the riparian forest that once provided habitat. Our Free the Creeks program pushes city planers and council members to “daylight” urban creeks, provide them with a riparian zone and bike/pedestrian path.  A creek is an amenity that increases property values and provides recreation to citizens.  We have placed a proposal to daylight Calder Creek before the City of Sebastopol Council members.  If you are a citizen of Sebastopol, please contact your Council Members and ask them to support this proposal.  If you would like to help with this project, please contact our Executive Director, Rick Coates at 707-632-6070.
