Reforestation 2010

2010 Reforestation Program

Each year Forest Unlimited organizes volunteers to plant redwood and oak seedlings on protected properties throughout Sonoma County on the first two weekends in January.    In January of 2010 students for Santa Rosa Junior College and volunters planted 2060 redwoods and oaks on the Junior College’s Shone Farm.   It is an enjoyable time tramping around beautiful semiforested areas, learning about the proper planting methods and planting for future forests.   These trees will be sequestering carbon dioxide far into the future so this is a direct way you can fight global climate change.

Carl Wahl and Bob Nelson are the co-managers of our Reforestation Program.   To volunteer for the January 2011 planting, email rick@forestunlimited.org.
